2023 Red Wine Grenache BlendPublic Radio
Vintage Notes
After an unusually wet winter-bringing more than twice the average annual rainfall-our Paso Robles vineyards experienced vigorous spring growth. Budbreak arrived a few weeks early, and a cool, steady summer allowed for slow, even ripening. This long maturation period yielded textbook chemistry, and our first Syrah-dominant vintage delivered fruit of exceptional quality, marked by an ideal balance of flavor, acidity, and sugar. The resulting wines are fresh and concentrated, with excellent tension and a vivid spectrum of ripe black and red fruits.
Winemaker Notes
Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was gently destemmed and sorted into open-top fermenters, where it underwent carefully monitored fermentation and extraction. The wine was then aged for 16 months in French oak puncheons (20% new), allowing the blend to gain depth and texture without overshadowing its vibrant character. 2023 PUBLIC RADIO is the quintessential expression of red Rhône varieties in the Paso Robles AVA-layered, balanced, and unmistakably site-driven.
Tasting Notes
2023 PUBLIC RADIO is a deep ruby-hued blend that harmonizes vibrant energy with refined power and nuance. At its core, rich notes of black cherry and ripe red plum unfold, layered with a spicy, savory complexity evocative of Cornas or Hermitage. Earthy undertones add depth and grace, while the wine's dense yet supple structure carries through to a long, aromatic finish. It's a wine of both luscious fruit and ethereal sophistication.
